DSCSA for pharmacies: 27 November 2026
Small dispensers face full electronic DSCSA enforcement on 27 November 2026. That date is an enforcement event. A PDF from the wholesaler is not a DSCSA system.
Independents often verify at dispense and still reconcile wholesaler PDFs by hand when a shipment arrives without matching EPCIS. Enforcement does not wait for a six-figure contract. You need partner files in, tote match, verification where required, and a path to FDA Form 3911 from a failed check.
What to have working
- Inbound EPCIS from Cardinal, McKesson, ABC, or your regional wholesaler. Not inbox PDFs alone.
- Receiving that matches what arrived to the tote before inventory is treated as sellable.
- Verification before fill, with a log you can show an inspector.
- A way to start FDA 3911 from a failed verification, not a blank form.
What you can skip
You do not need Pharmacy Pro across hundreds of stores if you run two locations. You do not need a named PMS adapter as GA; the verification API exists today and named adapters are not GA. You do not need a global network for wholesalers you already buy from.
